A SINFul Feast's Creation and History
I was inspired to write A SINFul Feast after a movie night with my best friend. We were on a witchy theme night and watched Practical Magic chased by The Craft and then a couple of episodes of Sabrina the Witch. I love elements of all those movies/shows, and wanted to combine them into a spicier story.

I very much wanted to keep the witchcraft grounded in reality, although there were supernaturals who share Nyx's world with showier powers. But Nyx and her family's abilities would be more subtle. Kitchen magic, cord cuttings, herbal remedies, and the wisdom passed down through generations of Vossen witches. I wanted to highlight the everyday aspects of witchcraft that often get overlooked—the little spells for love, protection, and healing that can truly make a difference in one's life.

A SINFul Feast explores themes around female sexuality and patriarchy's suppression of sexual agency. These themes are layered throughout the series, reflected in Nyx's family history—her mother's tragic romances, Fennel's scar, and the Aunts' roles in helping domestic abuse victims escape. This narrative thread culminates in Nyx's experiences at Pinegrove Academy, where the patriarchal disapproval of women who do not toe the line is manifested through the ostracization of the Vossens by the town.

A SINFul Feast invites readers to celebrate female empowerment and the reclamation of one's body and choices in a world that often seeks to limit them. By exploring the intricate dynamics of family legacy, societal norms, and personal growth, I hope to create a story that resonates with those who dare to embrace their true selves.
Character Art
I have been lucky enough to discover an absolutely amazing character artist - Minx from rated_art_x - find her on Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/rated_art_x.

She has created these amazing drawings of Mal. We couldn't decide which we loved more - him on fire, or in the flesh. Both ways he's just stunning! She's working on a piece for Ender atm!
